MANSFIELD, OH- Seven graduates celebrated their recovery at a Drug Treatment graduation this afternoon.

Mansfield Municipal Judge, Frank Ardis, said that the treatment program has been very successful at helping those who are willing to put in the work to recover.

"We have a very successful program," Ardis said.  "We've had about 307 people who have completed the program.  We have about a 71 percent success rate."

The goal of the program is to help save the lives of struggling addicts in the community.

"Every person you look at that has a drug problem, they have a child, a mother, a father, a brother or sister.  There's someone that it truly affects them as much as the drug offender," Ardis said.

The probationary program also helps to relieve some of the burden on corrections facilities.

"It saves the county and the state a lot of money in the long run because people that are on drugs use illegal activities to supply those drugs," Ardis said.  "It prevents other crimes and prevents the city and the county from paying a lot of jail costs."
