MANSFIELD, OH- The Annual Washington Township Fire Department Pancake Breakfast brought large crowds out to the fire station Saturday morning.

The event supports both the station and the community it serves according to Lieutenant Nick Hammett.

"Our funds from today, we dump them back into the community.  We support families at Christmas time. We also hand out turkeys," Hammett said.  "It also goes back to the fire department itself, if we need tools or equipment."

The fire station was full of hungry residents throughout the morning who wanted to enjoy their pancakes while supporting a good cause.

"We're very fortunate in Washington Township where our township community has supported us always," Hammett said.  "It's nice having the backing and support from our residents."
